My Childhood:

I was raised in a small town in Tennessee as the youngest of five. My parents impressed on my mind the importance of being involved in church and being present in school. My dad pushed me to never miss school, and I graduated with a perfect attendance record from Kindergarten through 12th grade. To this day I actively participate and volunteer in my church congregation. My dad’s ideals have become mine, and I strive every day to be present for my family, for God, and for my clients.

Why Sioux Falls:

I chose to pursue a career in estate planning and business planning after working for an estate planning firm in Tennessee. Family is of the utmost importance to me, and I was impressed at the lifestyle and work-life balance estate planning attorneys were typically able to maintain. South Dakota has the best estate planning laws in the country, which is likely why there was so much opportunity here. As my wife and I prayed about where we should go after law school, we felt led to come to Sioux Falls and build a life and family here.

My Favorite:

Sports Teams: Tennessee Volunteers (Go Big Orange!) and BYU Cougars – Football and Basketball. We’re looking forward to our children starting school so that we can become legitimate fans of some local teams.

Hobbies: Food, Cycling, and Sailing. Especially food. Especially Asian food… I married a food scientist who is an amazing and creative cook and loves food at least as much as I do. Together, we love finding new dishes to cook and new places to try.
